It was quite good, no idea on type of fish but it must have been a fresh water fish I think, maybe from The Danube? you and your dad are the experts 🙂
I spend a lot of time in the Tirol area of Austria and often they have perch pike or zander on the menu and it’s served as yours was. Think it is from an area of the danube. I spoke with a fishmonger who was fishing on a pond (I met whilst walking in the U.K.) and he said the fish were introduced into the east anglian fens some years ago. Think they eat a similar fish in South Africa but can’t remember what it’s called.
